Description

A delicious and comforting baked casserole featuring spinach ricotta ravioli, marinara sauce, and a blend of cheeses.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2025 pieces fresh spinach ricotta ravioli
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Sauce:
    • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
    • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Add the fresh spinach leaves, season with salt and pepper, and sauté until wilted.
    • Mix in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
  3. Assemble the Casserole:
    • Spread a thin layer of the spinach-marinara mixture on the bottom of a baking dish.
    • Place a layer of spinach ricotta ravioli on top.
    • Dollop spoonfuls of ricotta cheese over the ravioli.
    • Add half of the cherry tomatoes.
    • Repeat the layers with the remaining sauce, ravioli, ricotta, and tomatoes.
  4. Top with Cheese:
    • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
    • Finish with grated Parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake:
    • Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
    • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  6. Garnish and Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
    • Garnish with freshly chopped basil before serving.

Notes

  • Cheese Variation: Try adding a blend of cheeses for extra flavor, such as fontina or gouda.
  • Sauce Enhancement: If you like a bit of spice, add red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce.
  • Vegetable Addition: Feel free to add other vegetables like mushrooms or zucchini for extra nutrition.
  • Ravioli Options: If fresh ravioli isn’t available, use frozen but allow them to thaw before using.
