Description

This delicious chocolate chip banana bread is perfect for breakfast or as a snack. The combination of ripe bananas and chocolate makes for a delightful treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Salted Butter (can substitute with unsalted)
  • 3 medium Ripe Bananas (the browner, the better)
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar (or granulated sugar)
  • 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt (can replace with sour cream)
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (or almond extract)
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour (measure accurately)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda (check freshness)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder (check freshness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips or Chunks (use semisweet or dark)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Butter: Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until it turns golden brown and smells nutty, then let it cool slightly.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: Combine the browned butter, mashed bananas, brown sugar, Greek yogurt, eggs, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Combine Mixes: Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula. Do not overmix.
  5. Add Chocolate Chips: Toss chocolate chips in a little flour to prevent clumping, then fold them into the batter.
  6. Prepare Baking Pan: Grease or line a 9×5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  7. Bake: Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes. Check with a toothpick.
  8. Cool and Serve: Let the bread cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!
