Description

Delicious and moist banana bread with a creamy cheese filling.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup melted butter (plus more butter for pan)
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • 6 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Spray a 9″-x-5″ loaf pan and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another large bowl, combine 1 cup sugar, butter, sour cream, vanilla, and 2 eggs and mix until smooth. Pour wet ingredients over dry and stir until combined, then fold in mashed bananas.
  4. In a small bowl, stir together 1 egg, cream cheese, flour, and sugar.
  5. Transfer half the batter to the prepared pan. Dollop cream cheese filling on top and smooth in an even layer with a spatula. Top with remaining batter.
  6. Bake until golden and a toothpick comes out clean, about 1 hour. Let cool 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For an extra rich flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the batter.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
