Instructions
- Making the Caramel:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the granulated sugar until it turns amber in color.
- Carefully stir in the butter, followed by the heavy cream. Be cautious as the mixture will bubble vigorously.
- Remove from heat and add a pinch of salt and vanilla extract.
- Let the caramel cool to room temperature.
- Preparing the Cream:
- In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Fold in the cooled caramel sauce gently, leaving some streaks visible for a marbled effect.
- Assembling the Dessert:
- Line a dome-shaped mold with plastic wrap for easy removal.
- Pour the caramel cream mixture into the mold.
- Press a spoonful of caramel sauce into the center of the cream.
- Smooth the top, cover with plastic wrap, and freeze until firm (about 4 hours or overnight).
- Adding the Crunchy Layer:
- Remove the frozen cream from the mold and peel off the plastic wrap.
- Press the chopped nuts around the outside of the dessert for a crunchy coating.
Notes
- Make sure the caramel sauce is cool before adding to the whipped cream to avoid melting.
- For a firmer texture, freeze the dessert overnight.
