Description

A delightful dessert featuring a creamy caramel filling and a crunchy nut coating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (such as almonds or hazelnuts)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Making the Caramel:
    • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the granulated sugar until it turns amber in color.
    • Carefully stir in the butter, followed by the heavy cream. Be cautious as the mixture will bubble vigorously.
    • Remove from heat and add a pinch of salt and vanilla extract.
    • Let the caramel cool to room temperature.
  2. Preparing the Cream:
    • In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
    • Fold in the cooled caramel sauce gently, leaving some streaks visible for a marbled effect.
  3. Assembling the Dessert:
    • Line a dome-shaped mold with plastic wrap for easy removal.
    • Pour the caramel cream mixture into the mold.
    • Press a spoonful of caramel sauce into the center of the cream.
    • Smooth the top, cover with plastic wrap, and freeze until firm (about 4 hours or overnight).
  4. Adding the Crunchy Layer:
    • Remove the frozen cream from the mold and peel off the plastic wrap.
    • Press the chopped nuts around the outside of the dessert for a crunchy coating.

Notes

  • Make sure the caramel sauce is cool before adding to the whipped cream to avoid melting.
  • For a firmer texture, freeze the dessert overnight.
  • Experiment with different types of nuts for varied flavors and textures.
  • Serve immediately after removing from the freezer to ensure the dessert retains its shape and texture.
