Instructions
- Preheat your oven and prepare a baking pan.
- In a large bowl, melt the butter and mix in granulated sugar.
- Add in the eggs, one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake.
- Let cool before frosting.
- For the buttercream, beat together the softened butter and powdered sugar.
- Add heavy cream and vanilla, and mix until smooth.
- Color the frosting if desired and spread it over the cooled brownies.
- Decorate with candy melts and sprinkles as desired.
