- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 slices crispy bacon
- 4 sesame seed burger buns
- 1 large onion, caramelized
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- to taste salt
- to taste pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Prepare the Patty Mixture: In a bowl, mix the ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Divide the mixture into four equal parts and shape each into a patty slightly larger than the bun.
- Caramelize the Onions: Slice the onion and cook it in a pan with butter over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the onion is golden and caramelized (about 15-20 minutes).
- Cook the Bacon: In the same pan or a separate one, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Grill or Pan-fry the Patties: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the hot surface, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.
- Toast the Buns: Lightly butter the cut sides of the burger buns. Toast them on the grill or a pan until golden brown.
- Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard. Mix well.
- Assemble the Burger: Spread sauce on both halves of the bun. Place the patty on the bottom bun, followed by caramelized onions and crispy bacon. Top with the other half of the bun.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider adding a dash of smoked paprika to the mayonnaise sauce.
- Ensure the grill or skillet is sufficiently hot before adding the patties for a perfect sear.
- Allow the patties to rest for a couple of minutes before assembling to maintain juiciness.
