Description

A delicious blend of savory beef, crispy bacon, and the unique flavor of pretzel buns.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 pretzel burger buns
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup caramelized onions
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup sliced pickles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bacon:
    1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
    2. Place the bacon slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    3. Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Beef Patties:
    1. Form the ground beef into 4 equal patties.
    2. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
    3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
    4. Cook patties for about 4-5 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
    5. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  3. Prepare the Pretzel Buns:
    1. While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the pretzel buns in the oven for a few minutes.
  4. Assemble the Burger:
    1. Mix mayonnaise and Dijon mustard together; spread on the inside of each bun.
    2. Place a beef patty with melted cheese on the bottom half of the bun.
    3. Add two slices of crispy bacon on top of each patty.
    4. Add a layer of caramelized onions and a few slices of pickles.
    5. Drizzle with barbecue sauce to taste.
    6. Top with the other half of the pretzel bun.
  5. Serve:
    1. Serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the beef before forming patties.
  • Make sure the grill or skillet is very hot before adding the patties to ensure a nice sear.
  • You can substitute cheddar cheese with your favorite cheese for a different flavor.
  • Pretzel buns can be homemade or store-bought for convenience.
