Description

A comforting slow cooker dish with tender chicken and savory stuffing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts (about lbs)
  • 1 ⅓ cups chicken broth
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 10 oz cream of chicken soup
  • 10 oz cream of celery soup
  • 2 celery stalks (finely chopped)
  • 2 boxes Stovetop stuffing mix (6 oz each)
  • 6 Tbsp salted butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. If the 3 chicken breasts are extra thick, slice them in half horizontally so they cook evenly and shred easily later.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in an even layer in the slow cooker.
  3. Pour in 1 can chicken broth over the chicken. Sprinkle in ½ tsp Italian seasoning, ½ tsp black pepper, 1 tsp garlic powder, and 1 tsp onion powder. Add 2 finely chopped celery stalks over the top.
  4. Spread 1 can cream of chicken soup and 1 can cream of celery soup evenly over the chicken.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 5 hours, or HIGH for 3 hours. The chicken should be very tender and easy to shred.
  6. Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and shred or chop into bite-sized pieces. Return the chicken to the slow cooker and stir it into the sauce until fully coated.
  7. Sprinkle both boxes (6 oz each) stovetop stuffing mix evenly over the chicken mixture. Drizzle 6 Tbsp melted butter evenly over the stuffing. Gently press into liquid but do not mix.
  8. Cover and cook for 10 minutes, until the stuffing is soft and fluffy.
  9. Serve immediately, scooping chicken, stuffing, and sauce together.
