Description

A delicious and creamy dip perfect for parties or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 pound beef, cut into small cubes
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

  1. Season the Meat: In a bowl, combine shrimp with half of the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Repeat with beef in a separate bowl.

  2. Cook the Beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef cubes, cooking until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  3. Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add a bit more olive oil if needed. Cook shrimp until pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.

  4. Prepare the Cream Base: In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, and cheddar cheese. Stir in the remaining spices and diced tomatoes with green chilies.

  5. Combine Everything: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a baking dish, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly. Add the cooked beef and shrimp on top, lightly mixing them in.

  6. Bake: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve with tortilla chips.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of lime juice to the shrimp before cooking.
  • Adjust spices according to preference; add red pepper flakes for a spicier dip.
  • Make it ahead of time and reheat when ready to serve.
