Description

Delicious and cheesy Texas Toast sandwiches filled with cream cheese, cheddar, and provolone.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • ½ cup freshly shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1½ tablespoons heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon coarse salt (divided)
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic (finely minced)
  • 8 slices Texas Toast bread
  • 8 slices sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, stir together cream cheese, shredded cheese, heavy cream, and ¼ teaspoon salt until thoroughly combined; set aside.
  2. In another bowl, stir together mayonnaise, garlic, and remaining salt; set aside.
  3. Grab your bread and place 2 slices Cheddar cheese on each one.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on top of the 4 Cheddar slices.
  5. Then top each with 2 slices provolone cheese. Add remaining bread slices on top.
  6. Spread half of mayonnaise mixture evenly over tops of sandwiches. Flip over and spread the other half on the bottom of sandwiches.
  7. Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Place sandwiches in skillet.
  8. Cook sandwiches until golden brown on both sides, flipping occasionally until cheese is melted and bread is well toasted.
