Description

Delicious peanut butter jelly rolls that are easy to make and perfect for snack time!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup jelly or jam of your choice
  • Optional: a handful of chopped peanuts or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8-inch square pan.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a big bowl. Whisk or mix with your fingers.
  3. Pour in the milk and melted butter. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Lightly flour the counter and roll the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Spread peanut butter across the dough. Dot or swirl the jelly on top.
  6. Scatter chopped peanuts or choc chips on top if desired.
  7. Roll up the rectangle, longer side first, into a log shape.
  8. Slice into 8-10 rolls and place in the greased pan.
  9. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until golden and fragrant.
  10. Let cool for a few minutes before enjoying.

Notes

  • I’ve subbed in whole wheat flour for a healthier option, which works fine but can be denser.
  • Using almond milk instead of whole milk is an option as well.
  • My gran preferred salted butter, so you can use that if you like.
